Lucknow: The Unnao district malaria officer, Ramesh Chandra Yadav, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 by the vigilance team on Monday. As per the police report, KK Gupta, a biologist in the filariasis control unit of Unnao, filed a complaint stating that Yadav had requested the bribe to approve his medical leave. Following Gupta's complaint, the senior superintendent of police and the UP vigilance establishment confirmed Yadav's involvement in soliciting the bribe. Yadav was apprehended by the vigilance team after accepting the money from Gupta at the district malaria office in Unnao. The recovered cash led to the registration of a case against Yadav under relevant sections at the UP vigilance station in Lucknow.
